i can keep the "nerd shit" in order but someone else should set direction. IDC personally who, but if I set it I don't have real accountability and that's not good to have considering i would be handling the site's maintenance, which is why someone else should be setting direction. e.g., if someone else puts it in my backlog to add some blog shit to the page because that beta bitch somehow convinced people that's what we really need, then fine, i'll do it. or at least give you a breakdown of how long it will take. but it's good to have a "business" decide what will be the direction because take away the accountability and eventually i will just tell you f**k you i ain't doing your shit anymore if i have to deal with all your requests, exploited. someone else deal with that f**k guy. and it's also good to have "production support" to handle the moderation of stuff, before you get back to me on the back end who is just making sure the ship is running, not which way it's going.

Serious question - how does a forum legitimately grow? I assume most people look at this place and say there aren't enough people to make it worth the while. But every forum begins with a few people. How do you get to critical mass? If we tripled our active members, suddenly new people would see a vibrant place worth signing up for. Do we need paid advertising or something?
