I'm not defending their actions, but killing people doesn't deter people from committing those crimes, or bring back the dead. Despite the death penalty, people still kill people. Weird huh?
I don't accept that the government has sovereignty over my life. You would think that people who don't want the government being increasingly involved in their life would certainly not so easily hand over their lives to the whims of that very entity.
