At $7.99 a sixer, Potosi makes very good and cheap beer. The brewery has a great story too. It operated from the mid-1800s until the 1970s when it closed down. It was purchased in the 1990s for $6,600 and the community has put over $8 million dollars into restoring it. It was donated to The Potosi Foundation, a non-profit organization, which reopened the brewery a few years ago. Profits go to historical and educational initiatives. It's now a registered historical site and it houses the American Breweriana Association museum.
