Here's a fun story:
My grandfather died when my dad was 11, with two other siblings (all younger than him). My grandmother was a housewife who had to learn how to drive so she could go get whatever menial work was available in order to support her three children now that the bread earner of the house was dead. She worked her ass off and they were still dirt poor.
