I'm actually very optimistic about 10. Right now it seems like the way 7 worked out: Remove the shitty parts of Vista and smooth it over and you get 7. Same could be true of 10 with regard to 8.
Plus...the on the fly cross platform stuff is impressive.
No reason not to if its free.

Ya, give em time to smooth it over. I've been running the preview for months now, and its rock solid. I'm downloading the new build with Cortana and Continuum right now.
