This is more an EU problem than an american one. I frankly give zero shits about the blatant american appeasement of an actual fascist government, ruling over a country filled to the brim with literal neo-nazis. The russian propaganda about evil ukrainian fascists is particularly ironic and hypocritical given those facts. I care rather more about the polish, baltic, romanian and other ex-soviet "republics" that know first hand what russian "influence" really means. Just more proof that NATO is an increasingly worthless institution and that Europe must look to itself for defence. Americans obviously being more than willing to throw millions of people in a sovereign country to the wolves if it means they are not slightly inconvenienced, despite containement of russian imperialist ambitions being the whole point of NATO in the first place. After all, it's just a totalitarian dictatorship using the excuse of defending it's racial minority in a neighboring country to intervene militarily, what could possibly go wrong. Not like there's russian minorities in any of the other bordering countries due to the decades long policy of deliberate eradication of local cultures, languages and mass colonization of ethnic russians. I'm sure just letting Putin continue the expansion of russian influence into "natural" russian borders won't lead to any more conflicts at all. Just let him have Ukraine, it's a worthless country with worthless people according to self-centered navel gazing narcissists on the other side of the planet.
