Rick, what you aren't getting is that this oil is already coming to the US. It hasn't been well communicated but the only thing that the Keystone XL Pipeline does is change how it gets here. The oil is going to be used whether the pipeline is built or not. Right now, that oil moves through our country by pipeline, rail, truck and barge. The Keystone XL is simply a project to move more of it by pipeline than by rail and barge. The XL stands for extra large.

I think this is not that big an issue either way. We're going to consume Canadian oil, pipeline or no AND the number of jobs this project will create isn't all that great.

isn't one of the biggest issues with it the land that the pipeline is going to go through? IE people don't want it to go through their land?

It's got to be a distraction... the noise created by this pipeline is worlds larger than the cost,... environmentally, sovereignty-wise, or any other way
