Not really man. A minimum wage worker will have a much harder time getting to work in just about every other part of the country than NYC. You may only live 2 miles away (doubtful) but win no public transport you are f**k, I don't think you realise that the number 1 thing that gets poors fired in most of the country is a car breakdown, which they can't afford to fix, which means they can't get to work. Period. That never happens in NYC. Any COL savings is offset by lower pay and the need for a car.
Public transport is one massive subsidy to poors. I don't complain though because I like that. Housing is a huge subsidy, stupid unions are a huge subsidy, all DEM PROGRAMS are a huge subsidy, higher wages. Housing is by far the biggest one though. Half of Harlem is full of people who pay little to nothing for their 2 bedroom, meanwhile you actually need to make 6 figures to afford a market apartment. NYC public schools are some of the best in the country, but most New Yorkers are stuck up elitists who think any sort of public education sucks because half the school is minority or doesn't give a shit. Hell who was that guy saying he didn't have a single public school that offers AP courses in his district? That's probably most of America, New Yorkers have way way more public options than anywhere else.
DON'T BE A TOUGH GUY. DON'T BE A FOOL! I WILL CALL YOU LATER.
