The New York Times is one of those last bastions of media that's willing to print negative stories on either party. That's why it remains the journal of record, while outlets like Fox will be recycled to the dustbin of history except as a cautionary tale.

The only explanation that makes sense is that she simply didn't see the value in the rule, and so decided to disregard it, just like people do everywhere, everyday.

There is no ulterior reason. It's just a powerful person thinking they are above it... And frankly, she's absolutely right. Nothing will come of this.

That's not the argument. The OP argues that all communication should've been kept on state dept servers. Could she have done stupid shit on the state dept one and sensitive shit on the private one? Sure. But then we'd still be where we are, with some emails accessible and others not. So I'm guessing she calculated that if I'm going to break the rules I might as well just make it easier on myself with one account.
