It's arguably a violation but probably not and nobody's ever been prosecuted for it. 47 Senators is a bad place to start enforcing an ancient never-used law.......
But Republicans should be harshly punished for this in the next election. They're putting politics above country. Party first, donors second, electorate third, country fourth would be their order of priorities I imagine.

Eh, in many instances yes but you have to admit there's a whole new generation (especially in the House) of tea partiers who couldn't wait to get to Washington to start sticking it to Obama to satisfy their drooling base.
