Crazy relatives

Ok, here's the deal: My Dad is afraid of a US economic collapse. He sees it happening "soonish." I've argued with him endlessly. He's buying guns, a shitload of ammo, food and water, silver, and is coordinating with an old co-worker. The co-worker is going defensive....he plans on trying to protect his own and stay put. My dads plan is to stay more mobile.

He thinks its going to happen because "the US is going to turn into Greece because there's too much debt." I cannot reason with the man no matter how hard I try. Any argument I bring up, no matter how eloquent or substantive, is easily dismissed by simply mentioning the debt load of the country.

I don't know what to do anymore.

In all seriousness that's tough Kane. I have a couple distant relatives who are crazy like this so I just nod politely whenever I see them and then wander off to talk to someone else, but if it was my Dad I'd be a bit more concerned.

Well, he's not hurting anyone and he's git the cash/job. It's just annoying...he's dumping disposable income into crap. And he's more arrogant than me....so he's never ever ever wrong. Also, he's an economist and prudent scholar on economic collapse. It's just irritating.
