I love big, dense cities and all, but cities have density restrictions for a reason: so you don't have an entire city with an F.A.R. of 12 or greater. You have limitations to limit shadows, improve views, increase views, more open space etc, basically the things that make day to day living liveable. If you had an entire city with a CBD density, it would be awful. Even Tokyo has strict density and setback restrictions, and there isn't a building taller than 300m there (most under 200). I love designing big buildings but just going pure vertical for every building type makes for a terrible built environment.
