I was there in August and it was really bad, worst humidity I've ever experienced. It's a bit better the higher you go but down by the water with no breeze it's like the NYC subway on a summer day. Can't say what it would be for May, probably slightly better but not much. Def might want to rethink if you hate humidity because you will sweat going anywhere in the city during the warm months.
