There are certain shoes that actually don't work with socks (like the ones in the OP). That said, wearing a pair of shoes without socks for an extended period of time will result in a shoe that smells like an old fishing boat, so tread lightly.

i wear sperry and crocs boat shoes without socks on default. it is the way of the one true god.

boat shoes are very comfortable but you have to get new ones every so often or they smell awful especially if you get them wet a lot

Boat shoes, especially like the ones I originally posted, look like they would cause some blisters if worn without socks. Guess I have wimpy feet.
