Aw c'mon. Its rustic. 
Traditional Neopolitan pizza looks something like this:
So I doubt the blackening on the crust is a bad thing. I kinda like it that way, personally. In Italy, by law, it has to be baked at over 900 degrees. Pretty sure its tough to avoid a little...carbonizing under those conditions.

My idea of rustic:
Rosemary infused olive oil, cherry tomatoes, black olives, heirloom green peppers, onions.
In re: oven temperatures, I've found that around 700F is ideal. Any more than that and you're starting to cook pizza like an Italian.
