More to stress the point - God nor any other diety is going to save you. You can't just sit around hoping for divine intervention. Not in every day life, not in life/death situations. You need to do things for yourself, not to try and impress some diety.

I had always interpreted God will save you as in he will save your soul. And I figured that Christians were just going through the motions when it came to attributing success of whatever - after all I thought the Bible was pretty clear that God is backing off the whole divine intervention thing, at least until he annihilates the planet and sends everyone to hell.

i have to agree with jimmyz here. kind of weird you guys are mocking a teenager for dying because she got caught in flood. her belief really doesn't have anything to do with it.
