To be honest, when I first heard about this whole thing, my reaction is that I've met transgender people before and I don't know who the f**k this is, so I don't see why I should care. Olympics in the 70's doesn't resonate with me at all. I guess I have to imagine if this was instead Tom Brady or Lebron James for me to understand why this is a big story.

My memory of Bruce was similar to jimmys. He was THE badass Olympic star when I was a tike, so his previous fame is clearly a generational thing. His recent transformation didn't do that much to change my opinion of him because that had already occurred with his reality TV fame.
