I went to what was then one of the best magnet schools in the country. good experience but the kids were weird. iw ould've ended up very strange socially if i hadn't played sports.

Yea I'm obviously joking magnet is the way to go.
Most sports don't toughen up kids today though. Unless you sign him up for boxing or a black football team or maybe hockey or a mexican soccer team. You need your son to be put in an environment where the kids can freely fight each other and have to act accordingly. But don't be that guy dragging his son to afternoon carrots and juice, aka t-ball, recreational soccer, non-AAU basketball, bowling, or similar nonsense.
As a high-income white male in Texas, I'm going to recommend Lacrosse for your boy.
