What is it about Silicon Valley that's high brow? Was it the testicles on the conference table or the hand-job based compression algorithm? It's the lowbrow stuff that gets the most laughs.
Big Bang theory gets rough because the characters are too broad in their nerdiness. Nerds tend to specialize. They aren't usually into everything that could possibly be a source of mirth for the muggles.

I've legit never watched big bang theory, but from what I know about it, the comparisons could only be fair if you called Silicon Valley "Big Bang Theory meets Always Sunny"

I only watch the pirated version, but sometimes I think it's compressed with Nucleus.
