in addition to the weird graph fstcar the labor participation rate is declining thanks to boomers. that is, the boomers are why there was an increased labor participation rate, and their retirements are causing it to drop back to pre boomer levels. it's just too bad they won't commit seppeku. no, never them.

Professional athletes do have unions, though they generally regulate when and how contracts can be negotiated, how often mandatory practices can be held, etc. other than the rookie pay scale, pro athlete salaries are pretty much dictated by the market, though salary caps alter the landscape.

Unionization is still a very useful tool, it's just that no one ever unionizes internally, they just think they have to call the dipshit Teamsters if they want to unionize. The American workforce just isn't that smart.
