eh. it's a bit of a problem because it reflects this mentality among cosnervatives that our own government is some sort of enemy. i find that troubling. it also introduces the dynamic we see among Republicans who refuse to compromise with Democrats. The more you villainize your political opposition as an enemy of the US the less likely compromise becomes.

and we sorely need compromise.

Democrats were pretty shrill in the Bush years. The whole truther movement sprung out of the left, talk about paranoia towards government. Republicans lost their damn minds when Obama got into office, which is pretty par for the course as far as polarization of the country goes.

Either way, if you can step above the partisan nonsense, you can see do to our governtment's track record for the last twenty years, there's not many reasons to trust government no matter who's in charge.

He is a traitor and a war criminal, and if justice meant anything in this world, he'd be in a federal penitentiary.
