I don't understand where you're coming from about not electing Judges.
Are you saying they should just be like regular public sector employees?

If that's the case, I think they would never be held accountable.

As for rights, I partially agree with you. I'm all for people paying their debt to society, and getting on with their lives.
I've known a couple of guys who have successfully patetioned to get their rights back. But, that's just anecdotal evedence on my part, and I honestly don't know the statistics of that sucessfully happening. I'm sure it's probably pretty slim.
Even though your view is pretty consistent, I don't think you are taking into account that there are some bad seeds in the world, and they're going to be violent an repeat offenders no matter what. That's why I asked about firearms possession.
I'm sure if reforms along the line of you're thinking were enacted, Maybe there'd be less of these repeat offenders.

When people are released from prison, they should be free to go with no strings attached. The strings almost guarantees recidivism.
