I gotta be honest, the responses here are fascinating, and mirror the majority opinion elsewhere. Which is interesting because this forum is typically a bit out of the ordinary on moral issues like this one.

Actually, someone posted a timeline of listed interactions and they only recently became violent. In fact, there's a video of people showing up with coconuts and practically handing them over from the boat. It leads me to believe that they had a very unpleasant encounter with an outsider (or outsiders) and since then became violent.
IMHO post some signs up or something and just stay away.
