KEN CUCCINELLI: ‘BLACK LIVES MATTER’ INSULTING TO WHITE PEOP

Former Virginia Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli, president of Senate Conservatives Fund, participated in a a panel Sunday on CNN’s “State of the Union” along with former South Carolina State Representative Bakari Sellers and addressed the resentment aimed at the saying “black lives matter.”

Although Democratic primary candidate former Gov. Martin O’Malley (D-MD) was booed and forced to apologize after he said in front of a group of “black lives matter” protesters that “all lives matter,” Sellers wanted everyone to know that an implicit “too” goes after the saying “black lives matter” and he explained that African-Americans saying “black lives matter” is them saying, “Stop killing us. We’re saying, ‘My life matters'” because he is “the only person at the table whose next interaction may cause them to be a hashtag.”

I don't care what color you are, if you're stomping down the street, loose jeans half down your butt, hoodie covering your head, you give off a dangerous aura. If you couple that with roughing up a store clerk and stealing, then prancing down the middle of the street stoned, and following that with reaching in a cop car to grab his gun, and YES you deserve to be treated roughly.

You're letting conservative victimization overrule your sensibilities.

When you complain that "#blacklivesmatter" isn't inclusive enough, you're arguing against the argument on their side that blacks are disproportionately sought after by the criminal justice system. That's the conservative bent to this, that's how they aim to keep the law enforcement paradigm of rational basis and just deserts in place. They're after the status quo and figure they can screw any real reform on the law enforcement community by re-framing the issue such that it actually makes the movement look ambivalent about suffering that occurs at the hand of law enforcement by people outside their demographic. What do you think "#blacklivesmatter" is really focusing on? Why? Why would an entire demographic feel compelled to represent themselves in such a fashion? Do you seriously believe it's so that they can claim some sort of superior position above all others? And superior at what? Being killed by the police or incarcerated for non-violent non-serious offenses?

C'mon guy.

I think that's where the real disconnect is at this point. You expect them to have some sort of all encompassing viewpoint of the issue because you feel it only fair since it's being framed in a way that you can't easily relate with it. But...they started the movement. Why did they start the movement? Might it be because they are disproportionately affected by the current penal code? By the law enforcement community? Furthermore, why does it take this movement starting to somehow alienate a bloc of people that never felt persuaded enough to pursue any real change to begin with? Or that had any real chance of changing it? You're essentially looking at a disenfranchised community that feels like it has no other outlet and that's going to be emotional because this sh*t has been going on for years. So when they yell at you for suggesting that they're not inclusive enough, that they're not caring enough about others, and that they're seeking to specifically address a grievance of a special party...go lobby the legislature on lobbying in general. Start with the AARP. There's only a shit ton of old people there and guess the f**k what, it doesn't give two shits about the young.
