what do you mean by "care"? have an interest in? so unless we "take better care", whatever that means, we can't be interested in other places? or do you mean we can't "care" about it in the same way we should "care" for earth? well no one is suggesting that. there's no endangered species there, there's no natives, it's just open land for anyone to take and exploit. why shouldn't we? wouldn't it make more sense to care about earth by exploiting other planets so we don't have to do so here? with lower gravity and a closer position to the asteroid belt, mars will be a great place to send back materials for processing before we send them back to earth as needed
