So, I'm not trying to downplay this by any means, but we have been of the understanding that water has been on other planets for quite a while. I understand Mars was obviously estimated to be just dust, or thought to of previously had water. But, correct me if I'm wrong didn't we assume that most of the water that is on earth began with meteors and ice? Wouldn't it be obvious to assume that Mars may have had water from previous meteor strikes on the planet or something of the sort?
I only read a bit, but it doesn't seem like this is as significant as we were hoping?? Still cool, but doesn't leave us any farther than we were yesterday.
