Again Saz, that's just ultra-liberal, nothin'-to-see-here, how-bad-could-it-be? thinking. Aw, it'll just mean some bad weather more than we're used to.
It's also a classic case of normalcy bias. And that always ends well.
As for all your confidence in human technological innovation, that's exactly what's being thrown out here--technological innovations that may not be able to reverse what's happened but at least stop it. Those innovations are being stifled in favor of the status quo. Innovations can't help us when those in power won't allow them to be used.
