Yeah, are we somehow supposed to act like political parties have never used congress (house or senate) as a political tool to defeat opponent parties? It's used all the time, literally.

What McCarthy said doesn't make any sense. The Benghazi committee was well before Hillary announced her presidential bid. So there isn't any way the purpose of the committee could have been to destroy her politically and drive her poll numbers down. (Unless there was a newer committee that I'm not aware of.)
What he is trying to say, albeit poorly, was that Clinton's email server being exposed was a result of their investigation.

So what. Hillary had some skin in the game with her comments about Benghazi, and was always the face for Benghazi hearings and information, not because she was the front-runner in an election nobody was talking about yet.
