The US can't be invaded. You could have zero infantry and no personal firearms, and still it would be impossible to invade the US. The Atlantic Ocean is one giant killing field, so is the Arctic Ocean, so is the Pacific. The idea of guns serving some sort of utility in a national defense scenario is absurd given the fact that nothing could make it to shore alive.

i mean the US for sure could be if we didn't have a military (which I think is what menson was hinting at). the success of that endeavor would be questionable though.
