Commanding respect is how you get bipartisan deals done. Hillary Clinton will be unable to get a single major piece of legislation passed from day one. Period. End of story. You can delude yourself into thinking she can miracle deals out her ass, but that just isn't going to happen. Anything she accomplishes will be by executive order or through administrative decisions. The gridlock that will swallow Congress will make Obama's treatment look jovial and friendly.

Presidential elections are frequently decided by a million votes. A candidate who can convince a million people to vote, who would otherwise not vote, is drastically increasing their chances. Bernie can do this. Clinton cannot. That is because she inspires nobody and is a poor leader. So much so that Bernie is giving her a challenge and he's terrible at campaigning.

The progressive population is massive in the US. You just have to look at where people stand on the issues instead of looking at how known Dems/Repubs vote.
