This generation?

Will this be the generation that refuses to be fat, sick, and miserable like their parents?

It's kind of early to tell what the current early 20-somethings are going to become in terms of a generational identity. Statistically, my generation uses drugs at a historically low rate (a big drawback in my mind), but tends to be pretty civic-minded and involved.

I grew up with this fantasy of coming of age in a time of social upheaval ala the late 60s. I really wanted to be a part of a youth movement that organized, and protested, and just generally wouldn't be afraid to upturn some social norms. No luck on that so far, but there's time and a growing wealth inequality to help things along.
