Charter schools are definitely a good option. We actually shouldn't have sports in schools at all, and instead have hundreds of smaller schools in localized areas. There's no reason we need massive schools with thousands of students and massive sports programs. Sports should be all outside of school and paid for by the parents/spectators.

Club sports has grown exponentially in the last 30 years, and all of the professional organizations could easily start their own youth programs to find their talent. Kids should be in uniformed clothes, kept for shorter hours, not provided lunch or breakfast, required to clean their rooms and bathrooms, and show up to work out at 6 am.

I like uniforms. I'd prefer longer hours though. Making kids wake up that early is absurd. They should be starting classes later, not earlier.
