Looks like I joined this thread just in time to see someone using the "West has done bad shit too" response to other people committing acts of violence. No shit Sherlock, but last I checked Western societies are bending over backwards to make multiculturalism a thing and have repeatedly condemned the colonialism of their ancestors. It shouldn't surpise anyone that Germany, the most stable economy in Europe, is where many migrants and refugees are fleeing to, when there's plenty of wealthy neighboring countries in the ME that refuse to help them. Are any of the Gulf States taking in massive amounts of migrants or refugees? No. Western nations are far from perfect, but they are at least attempting to be inclusive, something that can't be said about plenty of ME countries.

If Russia attacks Turkey and it turns out that the Russian jet was indeed over Turkish airspace, I hope we would honor our obligations and respond. NATO must be respected and Putin must be reminded of his and Russia's place in the world.
