The US is far better at assimilating immigrants than Europe. I don't see this ever being a significant issue here to be honest.

I disagree. I think there is something unique about the culture of America - a nation of immigrants and one of the most diverse countries in the world - that greatly mitigates the sort of harm we see in Europe. For example:

This sort of thing doesn't have a place in the US (unless the current base of Republicans get their way, but that seems unlikely).

i think part of many people (including my own) hesitance about them is the fact that so many of those muslims that do come over do not assimilate. the fact i see any women wearing hijabs is distressing. the fact i see many is alarming. its standing apart from everyone else and doing so very overtly. it's trying to infiltrate, not be assimilated by
