The ISIS thing never goes away as long as we continue to play "Don't ask, don't tell" with Saudi Arabia and Pakistan. Period. It's like fighting the Cold War but ignoring Moscow.
The Saudis invented this shit, and of course they don't mind ISIS rampaging around the mideast because they're Sunnis at least. Sort of like how we'd look the other way for decades as long as they weren't commies. In fact, sort of why we got in bed with what would be ISIS in the 80s--enemy of my enemy! That always works out well.
But the Saudis continue to fund and export jihadism worldwide (as does Pakistan) because it doesn't effect them--it's all directed outward.

Arab world is weirdly focused on Yemen. They don't care about Daesh so long as they've got a more interesting proxy war with those dirty Shia Persians to think about.
