we destroyed the iraqis though?
as i mentioned a strategic blunder was fdr demanding unconditional surrender w/o consulting anyone which prolonged the war. the bay of pigs was way bigger for the united states. after letting the invasion go without the support it was originally promised and f**k that all up, jfk ends up almost leading america into annihilation with his diplomatic fumbling (jfk was the worst president of the last century. don't forget, vietnam is on him too, and he's the one who installed the baathists in iraq in the first place.))

JFK is horrible. I agree.
But Galt. Strategic is: a plan of action or policy designed to achieve a major or overall aim.
Iraq indirectly lead to ISIS and the current arms race and proxy war in the ME we see today. It was turrrrbbllleeeee for the US's overall goals in the region (less terra, more oil).
