Saz, of course most millennials aren't rich, powerful, or successful yet. The average age of a millennial is 23 (if, according to many sources, births from 1982-2004 count). You're barely a year or two out of college. My parents are somewhat well-off. They fall squarely in "upper-middle-class". Yet, what was I doing when I was 23? I was working the overnight shift of Loss Prevention for a hotel at $9/hr.
And, it's not "olds vs youngs". The olds do what they can for themselves. And the youngs do the same thing. It's been that way forever. Old people set up SS so that young people will support old people. But, that was done in 1935, when "the Greatest Generation" were kids. It's the way that things are.
It's not old vs young. Trust me, your "young" friends are going to fight you just as hard for something as any old guy.
