My take on the GOP field as of now:
Trump still has a lot of hype and excitement around him, but he will perpetually underperform because he's only bothered to do the parts of a campaign that the public sees. His opponents have field organization and GOTV strategies, while he just holds rallies and goes to debates. It's just another sign that he doesn't take the weight of the office he's pursuing seriously enough.
Cruz is a legitimate genius (I'm not complimenting him, he literally has an IQ of 160 or something crazy like that). Cruz is insane. Cruz is a dick. No one who really knows Cruz likes him. He has some staying power in this race, for a while at least, but sooner or later he will join the long list of Republicans who won Iowa and then fizzled out.
Rubio had crazy momentum coming out of Iowa and really squandered it with his bizarre debate performance. It wasn't that horrible as people are acting, but it was bad and since it came so close to NH, it could derail things, but he has every reason to hold on and try to get past it. He's still the GOP's best candidate for a general election.
Christie delivered those highly damaging blows to Rubio, or rather, he helped Rubio along with the self-inflicted wounds. But it didn't translate to much in the way of help for Christie. It's just a matter of time before he drops out.
Carson is just lolwut at this point. I can't predict what he'll decide to do, only that his campaign is going nowhere.
Bush is hoping that this shit show of candidates implodes and he somehow gets a miracle chance at a resurgence. But meanwhile I'm sure he's figuring out how and when to drop out when that probably doesn't happen.
Kasich is still a major, major longshot, but I feel the possibility for him is higher now than it's ever been. If the voters turn their back on Rubio because of this debate, there's a chance (slim as it may be) that Kasich could inherit support from Rubio and shock everyone by finishing top 3 in NH. If he does that, he immediately moves into the serious candidate column.
go ahead. keep screaming "Shut The f**k Up " at me. it only makes my opinions Worse
