in it there is always talk of the "crisis" that comes before the high. the crisis before was depression and WWII. the unraveling that proceeded that was prohibition and WWI

Some people have pointed to the war on terror and the great recession as the crisis, with postmodernism and culture wars as unraveling. i think that's partially true. i think postmodernism, culture wars, political correctness, war on terror and great recession all together are the unravelling, and thus the mielinial generation is more like 1982-2015 (and tbf, we are living longer, reproducing later etc). i think we are seeing the beginnings of the actual crisis not the end. trump is a symptom not the actual problem

The solution is to just let the economy do what it does. Workforce training will catch up (with varying degrees of quality) and those who are too old to change will die, those who are too violent will be killed, those who exploit the welfare systems will do so as usual until a breaking point of failure or death involving either the system or individual.

Technical training schools and engineering programs are pretty on point at bending and flexing with the market to respond to changes in technology.

Engineering programs that have an engineering economics or environmental economics program are away ahead of other education institutions in feeling and responding to the pulse of an industry. Anecdotal: I came from a program that stopped me as a sophomore and said, "Josh, you will be obsolete in twelve to twenty years if you specialize here, we recommend generalizing here and here and specializing elsewhere." For this I am grateful.

Others are not so fortunate. What do we do about the people who choose the dark path or who are forced on the path of information darkness?

Well, people who are of low information will always lend themselves to war and violence and those of the ruling status will propel them to war just to maintain the ruling status and because low information individuals want that simple gratification of a struggle where there is blood.

I speak as one of low information upbringing who sees just enough light to command the brigades of low information brethren into your enlightened towns for loot and nutrition.
