Hard sciences aren't liberal arts. But the soft sciences definitely are. Just because poli sci requires a basic understanding of statistics isn't enough to remove it from liberal arts.

Lmao political science is THE stereotypical liberal arts major. You guys have no clue what you are talking about. In fact, some of those other majors are significantly more prestigious, rigorous and marketable. English history for example. I know a few and all have great jobs now. They are all quite smart though, in the way you would have to be to even pretend to have an interest in that subject. Know tons of successful art majors as well. Art is art man, you clearly have a different expected outcome in life than everyone else. I don't think many go in expecting to get a job, and if they do, its in the arts which the degree at least positions them for, relative to say a....political science major. This is the major of the people who THINK they know how to run things, but ironically, are primarily in the major because of a lack of aptitude at anything else. It's perhaps the least rigorous major there is. Not only is it soft in terms of language like philosophy or history, where a good writer can often compensate for lack of knowledge, it's entire subject is political. There are various rules which are actually nebulous theories that have held constant for a sample size of 4-5. So basically bullshit.

Political science at university is akin to asking the political opinion of a group with no demonstrable skills or talents. While everyone off is learning useful skills to improve the human condition, you have the talentless in the basement arguing about politics. It's certainly a liberal art and the very name Political Science gives it away. Have you ever wondered why we call it political science? We don't call it economics science, or art science, or history science. That's because the Political Science is POLITICS. But obviously they can't call it that...even political science majors aren't stupid enough to pretend that's serious. So we call it Political Science...because calling it what it actually is, Politics, would expose what a fraud the entire major is.
