There are definitely aspects of the Green Party and their platform that are silly. That tends to happen when you're marginalized and not taken seriously. And maybe you'd say we have a chicken egg situation going here, but the point is that if more people considered third parties, those parties would become more pragmatic.

Isn't the joke really that we're supposed to be the beacon of democracy but are herded every election into only two choices, with this year being the worst ever?

And that both parties are bought and paid for by special interests, who in this country we consider a "person" and we call cash "free speech"?

Where the choice now is between Hillary Clinton and a... fascist? And if not him, then Ted Cruz?

Sorry but on the "joke" list Green Party's gonna be pretty far down.

Well Trump is the GOP front runner and he's taken no special interest money. In fact, he hasn't spent much money at all. He's not one of the candidates the two parties want to herd us into choosing between. All this is to say that when you really give the people what they want it can be scary.

When the founders spoke about their fear of mob rule, this is what they meant.
