How are you liking Cole Hamels? He was not treated well enough by the fans in Philly and the Rangers are a team I have nothing against so I wish him all the best there.

I don't like James at all. But, even I will admit that he is a phenomenal athlete. Easily one of the best ever.

However, "old school NBA fans" (of which I am one) will NOT say that a shooting team cannot sustain their success. The Celtics and Lakers of the 80s prove that. However, what I WILL say is that a shooting team will have little to no success if they don't play as a team. Run the plays. Not just a pick-and-roll, either. We're talking at least 4 passes, and everyone on the court makes at least 2 cuts.

Also, when a pick-and-roll is properly executed, it cannot be defended. But, modern players do it so sloppily that it's easy to defend.

Can I ask why you don't like James? Of all the hated on athletes in the world, he makes the least sense to me. An all time great who is by all accounts a real nice guy. No character issues or off the court trouble. Beloved by his team mates and demonstrated to be a real leader who helps his team mates be the best they can rather than just make it all about himself like a Kobe. What is there to dislike about this guy?

I grew up with Jordan as this icon of what kids who look up to athletes should aspire to be like. As I got older I learned he wasn't really a great guy, could be pretty uncool to his team mates, and was very self absorbed. It was a different time and I always say Jordan was the last athlete to kind of get the Babe Ruth treatment from the media. The fake image of who he was in the eyes of so many fans, especially young ones, took precedent over the uglier truth. Meanwhile Bron Bron actually is everything young kids should learn to emulate in sports and he gets shit on all day. Still, he really is all the things we were decieved into believing Jordan was back then.

Yeah he's a great player. I'm glad we traded him cause the Phillies rebuild was going to waste the remainder of his prime and we really needed the young prospects that the trade gave us. So win-win for him and the Phillies and win for the Rangers too if he keeps up the great work. He was a dude who our fans really gave a lot of shit for not being enough of a "Philly guy" even though no one doubted how good he was. I swear to God, some of our fanbase would rather just not win unless we can do it with a whole team of Chase Utley or Brian Dawkins personalities.

Yeah he's squeaky clean and works his ass off.

A little bit narcissistic but that's to be expected. One thing that annoys me is how much he says "I" instead of "we" and he also really likes attention (e.g., while the rest of his teammates were celebrating with each other immediately after the game ended, he put on a little bit of a show with the sobbing on the floor, etc. Dude should've been with his teammates. He also ignored a bench player to go give the owner a hug which is a dick move IMO).

But he's a good dude overall I think.
