The other thing is that they don't even have to tell you why you're on the list. In 2014 SCOTUS ruled that there has to be an appeal process, but since then, most people put on the list who have appealed have just been told the reason they're on the list is classified and their appeal dismissed.

While I'm all for keeping guns out of a lot of people's hands, as has been mentioned, that No-Fly list is riddled with holes. I've personally known two people who've gotten put on that list who had no business being anywhere near it. I know in one case it was purely due to a name similarity. By similarity, it wasn't even the exact same f**k name, so I have no idea how they got flagged (she found out when she was trying to book tickets for her honeymoon.). Staycation yo....
Getting ones name off said list, as you would suspect, requires a Herculean task to clear your name.

Who says criminals always buy their guns anyway? Im sure if they rob a gun store, they will leave a detailed copy of their background info behind.
