I understand your sentiments ex, but NAB is also right about his position informing his remarks. He's the chief of a major city police department. He has to walk a certain line because he can't lose his ranks. Police unions are very powerful in America and unfortunately in situations like this, the unions have some leverage over the chief, mayor, etc. I don't think they should for this situation but it's not the chiefs fault that it's like this. He still has to run a department after the dust settles.
