While I didn't vote for the man, nor have I agreed with many of his policies, I will always appreciate how well Obama can speak publicly like he did today in Dallas. It was an amazing speech imho.

We're all going to miss this aspect of Obama next year no matter who wins, because none of the current candidates can carry themselves with his level of gravitas while speaking to a public gathering. I think Obama would have made a great preacher if he weren't a Muslim.

To be fair, George W spoke pretty well himself today as well. Was brief but very on point. I know, just words, but it was a memorial service so it's what was needed.

Not sure that I'm a fan of the fact that he called the families of Alton and the other guy to offer his condolences. I mean, what if it comes to light that Alton Sterling was really reaching for his gun, had waved it at people earlier in the night (as the 911 call alleged) and had secretly had a desire to have a showdown with the cops?
