If one would like to live a long life, devoid of physical trauma and strife, and be blessed with much happiness and love, the best way to do so is to be a considerate person.
Making fatal mistakes is not curable. Being the baddest critter in your neighborhood is very temporary. Bullies and thugs tend to die early violent deaths -- or live long sad disabled lives.
I've been around long enough to see the patterns. I think I'm about middle-aged (at 62). But then, who knew that the kid who walked in front of a bus at age 10 was middle-aged at 5?
Getting old is partly luck, partly pluck, partly good decisions (including taking care of your health), and partly genetic.
The length of life isn't as important as the quality. Being considerate improves the quality of all relationships, and therefore the quality of life.
Consider it.
