"insurance" is jsut the means to pay for something. i've never thought that insurance should be the be-all-end-all. i should be able to pay for my healthcare services with just regualr money out of pocket; i shouldn't be forced into insurance.

the best healthcare system? now that's different. you're right that netherlands is similar. in fact, it's the same deal. fining (no wait, it's a tax) people if they don't comply and get private insurance and whatnot. is this good? i don't know. i don't think so, but i'm darwinian.
