They already have. Two cops shot in Des moines, three wrested for planning to OKC an apartment block in Kansas and today dinghy pulled a gun on some kids because he thought they vandalized his trump sign.

There will be isolated incidents. But nothing large-scale.

I'm not so sure there won't be more widespread violence, honestly. We're increasingly self-selecting into populations geographically that agree with us, as well as finding media outlets that cater to whatever ideological flavor we are. I think a lot of it creates an inherent feedback loop where we never hear honest arguments against any of our views, and everyone we personally know is unified against the same (real or imagined) enemies. It seems like a perfect recipe for violence, the more I think about it.

The only real bullwork against it is the fact that there's still a profit motive for most media, and actual social chaos and disarray disrupts money flows. I think there will be a breaking point, though, where even the Breitbarts of the world can't contain the monster they create.
