Invest in a target retirement fund with low expenses. Select automatic reinvestment of proceeds and forget it exists. Investing in individual stocks is a sucker's game and in the aggregate you simply will not beat the market.
A reasonable alternative, if you know somebody in PE, is to get in as a friends and family investor since PE is typically a guaranteed return and you won't be subject to cap calls as a F&F. You just kick in cash wait a few years for the exit or a few months than for a div recap and you're looking at serious big league returns.
If you really did invest all your funds in one sector, much less one sub-sector, you should reverse that decision ex. You're a reprehensible human being with no future and no hope of one but your poor wife doesn't deserve to suffer because of your financial illiteracy. Exit the investment immediately and buy some mutual funds.

You should take advice from me. While you were busy failing at everything you've ever done I was busy reaching the apex of my field at 28 and bouncing to conquer new areas soon after, with results so good I surprise myself too. Life of a don, lights keep glowin, etc.
Of course, a skinny fat with social anxiety, an Internet addiction and no college degree nor discernable skill set could ever hope to even get a middle class job much less ascend to levels like my own. The contrast is truly startling. You're even a shitty do gooder - you've made no meaningful difference in anyone's life because of the same failings thst have made you a professional disgrace. Very sad what a waste of a life you are. Your poor family
