Kane: The country doesn't give a f**k about liberal or conservative. You are as dense as Ted Cruz if you think otherwise. This was why he couldn't f**k understand why he was losing to Trump. "But I'm the one with the conservative principles!" he moaned, while losing state after state to a reality tv star. Only a small amount of voters sit down to look at the candidates and say "Hmmmm, now who is the most conservative here, because that's definitely who I want."
The vast majority of voters are far more visceral than that. They voted for Trump because they related to his hissyfits about the state of the country and were pissed off at the establishment. The Democrats answer to this was a politician who embodies the idea of "establishment" and a bunch of "um, actually, the country is doing great" lectures. Political incompetence of the highest order. But keep thinking that people voted for Trump after Obama because they said "Hmmm, after two terms of voting for Obama, I'd like a decidedly more conservative path forward."
